Ellena Wood is a BAFTA nominated director. She has been directing critically acclaimed films for major broadcasters (including Netflix, Sky, the BBC and Channel 4) for over a decade and has developed multiple projects from conception through to commission, creation and delivery.
Her broad-ranging work spans both retrospective film-making and observational story-telling, and includes The Ripper (No 1 on Netflix UK, Top 5 Netflix Global), Life and Death Row, (BBC BAFTA-winning series), and the award-nominated documentary Talking to Anorexia (made with Louis Theroux).
In 2018, Ellena was selected by BAFTA out of over 700 people as one of their Breakthrough Brit Artists (2018-2019), a prestigious scheme that mentors the best of creative British talent.
Passionate about telling nuanced stories in a uniquely creative way, Ellena's films seek humour and light in the darkest of places.
